Yorkshire U12B match reports.
Yorkshire U12 Development v Warwickshire U12B, held at West Bretton CC on Thursday 19th July 2018.
Yorkshire 172-9 (Jacob Fordham 58, Joe Pyrah 41) beat Warwickshire 142 all out (Harry Edwards 5-26) by 30 runs.
Yorkshire captain Noah Chapman won his fourth coin toss on the trot and elected to bat. But Noah was the first casualty with the score on 18. Nine runs later, Yorkshire lost their second wicket.
A stand of 78 between Joe Pyrah and Jacob Fordham followed but Pyrah, in attempting to attack the spinners, was neatly stumped for a well made 41. Freddie Chapman joined Jacob and the pair added 39 in good time, as Freddie scored at a run a ball, before departing for a quickfire 17, to leave Yorkshire on 146-4, with Jacob on 50 not out. A flurry of wickets followed as Yorkshire looked to add to the score and two run outs did little to help the cause. A final score of 172-9 was competitive but maybe opportunities were missed to get closer to 200.
Warwickshire's reply was emphatic as the openers plundered 53 runs from only 6 overs. But the breakthrough came when Harvey Round had the opposition skipper caught by Jake Keslinke for 23. 13 runs later the second wicket fell to Archie Barraclough. Wickets then fell at regular intervals as Freddie Chapman claimed two wickets and Alex Burton one, leaving Harry Edwards to finish off the innings with superb figures of 5 for 26 off 7 overs. Once again, excellent fielding and catching on a very hot day saw Yorkshire record their fourth straight victory within 31 overs. An opportunity missed by Warwickshire, given the tremendous start they were given by their opening pair. Thanks to West Bretton for their top class hosting, with superb teas and a good playing surface.

Yorkshire U12 Development v Lincolnshire U12, held at Dunnington CC on Sunday 22nd July 2018.
Yorkshire 214-3 (Joe Pyrah 78, Jacob Fordham 49*, Billy Armistead 28) beat Lincolnshire 35 all out ( Ayaan Khokar 4-7, Harvey Round 3-7) by 179 runs.
On winning a fifth successful toss, Noah Chapmen elected to bat and an opening partnership of 36 followed before Chapman was caught. Billy Armitstead joined Joe Pyrah and their second wicket partnership of 63 took the score to 99 in good time. Billy was out for a well made 28. Another large partnership of 91 between Joe and Jacob Fordham took the score to just short of 200 as Joe was out for a superb 78, which contained 11 fours. With the final score on 214-3, Jacob fell just short of a half century with 49 not out.
The Lincolnshire reply never got going, as the pace of Ayaan Khokar and Harvey Round proved too much with figures of 4-7 and 3-7 respectively. Archie Barraclough took two wickets and Harry Edwards wrapped up the innings in the 11th over for 35. Again, the fielding and catching was of the highest quality, a feature of the Yorkshire U12 B team this season. Many thanks to all at Dunnington CC for use of their excellent facilities.
