- new look presented.
Over a hundred and twenty parents attended a parents evening at Headingley this week where the new structures for elite junior cricket were presented. This covered the changes being introduced in the running of the Yorkshire County Age Group teams for the 2017 season; the linkages with the elite winter training programmes and enhancements made to the District Cricket tournament.
Martyn Moxon, YCCC Director of Cricket, commented 'It was pleasing to see so many parents at the meeting and their engagement with the new structures was welcomed. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to ensure that the opportunities are there for junior players to fulfil their potential within the sport.'
Andrew Watson, Executive Director of the Yorkshire Cricket Board, added 'Yorkshire cricket is accountable to the ECB for the growth of junior cricket and the delivery of transparent pathways to support & manage the development of talented junior players. These changes are the next steps in bringing together our winter programmes and elite representative teams under the Yorkshire Cricket badge.'
