Yorkshire U12A v Cheshire, held at Wakefield Thornes CC on Sunday 10th June 2018.
Yorkshire 164-9 (Jawad Akhtar 32, Rohan Ratnalingham 25) beat Cheshire 140-9 (Josh Hen-Boisen 4-14, Jack Redshaw 3-12).
Yorkshire won the toss and batted in sunny conditions, perfect for batting. Jawad Akhtar top scored with 32 supported by Rohan Ratnalingham (25). Runs came steadily throughout the innings, on a wicket which was keeping a little low, before Louie Owens (20) and Tom Wood (19) added late runs to push the total to 164.
In reply, Cheshire got off to a slow start, due to some accurate Yorkshire bowling in the first 15 overs. The introduction of Josh Hen-Boisen (9-1-14-4), on his home ground, pegged back the Cheshire batting, supported well by Jack Redshaw (6-2-11-3). Cheshire were looking like being 100 all out, but rallied in the last eight overs to a more respectable 140 for 9.
All in all, a comprehensive win, with the lads looking especially impressive with their bowling and fielding.

Yorkshire U12A v Lancashire, held at Lightcliffe CC on Wednesday 20th June 2018.
Lancashire 168 all out beat Yorkshire 113 all out (Jack Redshaw 36, Sabir Mahmood 26) by 55 runs.
Lancashire won the toss chose to bat on an excellent pitch, in perfect batting conditions. Lancashire got off to a quick start, with runs coming freely off the bat. The introduction of the spinners slowed the scoring rate again, with Josh Hen-Boisen (9-2-30-2) and Tom Burton (5-1-7-2) the main wicket takers. Jack Redshaw (4-0-17-2) took late wickets as Lancashire posted a challenging but get-able total of 168 all out.
In response, Yorkshire got off to a slow start and lost wickets steadily. The classy Sabir Mahmood (26) managed to hold the innings together and was looking well set, before succumbing to the weight of runs required. Jack Redshaw (36) batted very well in the latter stages of the innings but Yorkshire were well beaten on the day.
Again fielding and bowling was very good but the Yorkshire batters need to turn starts into match changing innings.

Yorkshire U12A v Wales, held at Sheffield and Phoenix United CC on Sunday 1st July 2018.
Yorkshire 241-2 (Noah Kelly 128*, Sair Mahmood 51, Rohan Ratnalingham 25) beat Wales 144 all out (Tom Burton 4-22, Josh Hen-Boisen 3-26) by 97 runs.
Yorkshire won the toss and batted in glorious conditions on a hard pitch and fast outfield - the perfect day for our batsmen to finally show their true worth. Runs came steadily throughout the innings with Rohan Ratnalingham (25), Sabir Mahmood (51) and Jawad Akhtar (20 not out) offering excellent support to our captain Noah Kelly, who batted throughout the innings for a superb 120 not out, to set up a mammoth under 12 total of 241 for 2, after Yorkshire declared with 3 overs remaining.
In the chase, Wales made a steady start, but lost wickets at regular intervals. After the seamers had made an early breakthrough, it was the spin of Josh Hen-Boisen (9-2-26-3), Ollie Rook (7-2-32-2) and Tom Burton (6.4–0-22-4) which bowled Wales out for 144.
An exceptional all-round performance from the Under 12s - both in batting and bowling.
