Arnie Sidebottom to be the guest of honour.
The Leeds Branch of the Association of Cricket Officials is having its final meeting of the year on Tuesday 12th December and would like to extend an invitation to other members of the association. The meeting is to be held at the usual venue: Barnbow Social Club, Old Manston Lane, Leeds LS15 8AD. The meeting will start at 7.30 pm.
The guest for the evening is to be Arnie Sidebottom. It will be an opportunity for members to question Arnie about his career, about Yorkshire and England cricket, and just about anything else.
Arnie is still very much involved in cricket, directly and through Ryan, who has just retired from first class cricket after an illustrious career. Arnie himself was one of the last of his kind – a sportsman who had the opportunity to play more than one sport at a high standard.
As this is the Leeds Branch’s last meeting before Christmas, the Committee will be laying on some festive nibbles, which can be washed down with some very reasonably priced ale.
Barnbow is a warm, comfortable venue on a cold winter's night, and they hope to have a good audience down. The meeting is free of charge to all ACO members, and it is not necessary for you to have a Leeds postcode to come. Non ACO members are welcome – but the Treasurer will wish to extract a modest financial contribution.
