Derbyshire won the toss on a sunny day and decided to bat first at West Bretton CC. Louie Owens (5-0-12-0) and Leo Wilson (6-2-23-2) once again got the team off to a strong start with Oliver Rook (8-0-34-2) and Josh Hen-Boisen (8-4-15-0) continuing to build the pressure with an excellent spell of spin bowling ably supporting by a strong fielding performance. Derbyshire began to rebuild with opener Findall making his maiden 50 for the county before Jack Redshaw (4-2-7-2) bowled an outstanding spell at the death to restrict the scoring in the death overs with Derbyshire finishing on 141-7 from their 40 overs. Noah Kelly (34) got the reply off to the strong start and even though Jack was caught for 5 to an outstanding catch at slip Sabir Mahmood (53*) formed a strong partnership with Noah to propel the team towards their target reaching the target in the 29th over 3 wickets down.
