is a real hit!
Sunday 16th August saw the first ever “Clash of the Roses” Festival when Yorkshire U11 girls teamed up with our Roses Rivals to put on a thrilling U11 District Competition. Wrenthorpe Cricket Club hosted the event, putting on Bacon butties in the morning with some popular pick n mix available throughout the day. A huge thank you to the club and Andrew Hodkinson for their help in organising the day.
The Format was incrediball pairs cricket and everyone got to bowl one over each, with teams from North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Lancashire & South Lancashire competing. West Yorkshire were crowned champions after winning 4 out of 4 - they remain undefeated in all district competitions over the last 2 years of U11 district cricket.
We also had the pleasure of 4 Yorkshire Stars who umpired all the games - Adrianna Darlow, Ellie Rooney-West, Francesca James & Izzy Bunn were brilliant throughout the day, offering advice and support as well as making sure that the games were played fairly. A massive thank you to the girls.
A brilliant day and one we hope to continue in future years with Lancashire Cricket Board.
