- beating Notts in the final.
Yorkshire won the U15 Royal London National County cup last Thursday at Kibworth CC.
Notts won the toss and elected to bat in good batting conditions.Lewis O Donnell make an early breakthrough for Yorkshire, however it was the miserly spells from Harry Sullivan and James Mukherjee that turned the screw on the Notts innings. The pressure was maintained by Sam Wisniewski (9.1-1-19-4)and skipper Eliot Goldthorp (5-0-11-3)supported by ground fielding and catching of the highest order. Notts collapsed to 88 all out
Chasing a low score is never easy and Yorkshire lost three early wickets. Their experiences early in the competition did, however, stand them in good stead as Matthew Revis and Archie Greaves first drew the Notts bowlers sting and then prospered as conditions eased. It was left to skipper Eliot Goldthorp to hit a massive six to secure a 5 wicket victory.
After the game manager Mark Welford said ''This was just reward to the boys for an outstanding season in which they have grown as a team and young men.''
