The above competition was held at Woodlands Indoor Centre on Sun. 8th November 2015. With the following four Clubs representing their Leagues:-
Bradford League – Woodlands C.C.
Dales Council League – Bradford Moor C.C.
Halifax League – SBCI C.C.
Hudds. Central League – Mount C.C.
The Opening match was between last year’s winners Woodlands C.C. & Bradford Moor CC, newcomers to the Competition. Woodlands batted first & after their 8 overs scored 83 for 3 with Capt Greg Finn (25 retired) leading the way. Bradford Moor replied with a commendable 62 all out.
The following match was between Mount C.C & SBCI C.C. Mount batted first & with the first 3 batsmen N.Patel (29 retired), M. Makta (23) & I. Rawat (25 retired) gave them a good start before the next 3 wickets fell for 15 runs giving them a score of 100 for 4 from 8 overs. SBCI C.C. lost an early wicket but Capt. Tom Wood (30) & opener L.Firth (15) turned things around before the side had a mini collapse & were all out for 60.
In the Runners Up match between Bradford Moor C.C. & SBCI. C.C. Bradford Moor C.C. batted first & were 64 all out with I.Siddiq (28) & M.Amin (22) in their 8 overs. SBCI C.C. lost opener Firth for 0 at the start of the innings but soon recovered with Capt. Tom Wood (28 retired) leading the way & J.Greenwood (17no) & D. Sykes (10 no) taking them to victory in 7 overs with a score of 64 for 1.
With the winners of the Final going forward to represent WYACC in the Yorkshire Final at Headingley on Sun. 17th January 2016 to see who represents YCB in the ECB National Competition,on paper this promised to be an exciting match.However this was not to be the case with Woodlands CC winning comfortably.
Woodlands posted a score of 106 for 5 with Capt. Greg Finn (28 retired) leading the way with support from L.Collins (19) & J.Bleazard (22). Mount got off to a disastrous start with the first 4 wickets falling with only 8 runs on the board before A.Hussain (25) & R.Motala ( 18) made a spirited rearguard action before both were caught & bowled by T.Clee bringing the Innings to a close on 64 all out.
