Yorkshire got their quest for a Lords final off to a great start with a victory over Cheshire 50+ by 8 wickets at Neston CC on the Wirral.
The visitors graced this marvellous venue with an excellent display in the field which restricted the hosts to 148/9 off their 45 overs. Bowling highlights were captain Steve Wales (North Leeds) with 4 for 31 and Ash Morton (Anston) with 3 for 40.
After a steady start resulting in an opening partnership of 50 by Catterall (33) and Yates (25) no other batsman topped 20 leaving the visitors to score a moderate 149 to win, which they duly did with 12 overs to spare.
Richard Sykes (Acomb) (58 no) and Mike Watkin (Hull) (41 no) in a partnership of 102 eased the visitors to victory aided by rapid contributions from Kevin Bradley (Clifton) (16) and Colin Frank (Pickering) (14).
