Electing to bowl having won the toss, Notts must have regretted the decision as Yorkshire stormed into a runfest from the off.Kevin Bradley was the only wicket to fall for a blistering 63 in the 12th over with the score at 83. Thereafter with Colin Frank joining opener Richard Sykes in a second wicket unbeaten stand of 236 as the home side reached 319 for 1 in their 45 overs. Both batsmen scored centuries with Frank 113 not out (11x4s & 2x 6) and Sykes unbeaten on 125 (12 x 4s).
In Reply Notts made a valiant effort to match the total sought but finally fell 90 runs short despite an excellent century from opener Chris Cliff earlier hurt in a freak accident whilst keeping wicket. His century - exactly 100 - contained 8x4s plus 2x 6s.He was ably supported by Chris Miller 27 and John Caunt 27.
However another victory for Yorkshire, with superior fielding and a "never say die" attitude inspired by captain Steve Wales 1/45 and his bowlers, in particular Nigel Doyle 3/53 steve booth 2/47 and Rob Keywood 2/52.
