Yorkshire Regional Cricket
It is with a heavy heart that the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Yorkshire Regional Cricket competition. This decision has not been taken lightly and a number of alternative options have been discussed over the last weeks and months in terms of observations, match-play and the return of the Yorkshire Ampleforth Cricket Festival. With the condensed period of play upon us and the focus of allowing all boys and girls to play cricket across the county and benefit as much as they can from this year, we feel local recreational cricket must take priority.
Following the recent GOV UK announcement last Friday and ECB step-4 guidance today recreational cricket can return to the outfields of cricket clubs across the county this weekend. This will provide a great opportunity to begin returning to some normality as well as playing the game that we have all missed during these months. Playing with friends and family at your local club within respective junior leagues and open-age leagues (where applicable) for the remainder of the year will provide a much-needed burst of cricket following the recent climate.
This is by no means a see you next year but more a message of see you soon. We will be in touch in the coming weeks with all boys that were signed up to observation days.
