Match Report
The final day of tour saw an early start and reduced overs game to try and beat the bad weather which was forecasted for later in the day. Skipper for the day Jack Redshaw won the toss and elected to bat first, he led by example scoring his maiden 50 for Yorkshire opening the batting and was quickly followed to his own maiden 50 by Sabir Mahmood (51) putting on a 99 run stand for the 2nd wicket. A number of wickets then fell trying to push on with only Jawad Akhtar offering any real resistance with 24. In reply Elliot Robinson (4-1-4-2) and Louie Owens (6-2-16-0) bowled a hostile opening 8 overs to peg California back before Oliver Rook (7-1-19-2) and Josh Hen-Boisen (7-1-22-0) continued to build the pressure with some tight bowling. It quickly became evident that California had no intentions of going for the score and despite the efforts of the bowling attack couldn't penetrate the defences of the middle order to bowl California out.
