Yorkshire U12 Development vs Leicestershire U12, held at West Bretton CC on Thursday 26th July 2018.
Yorkshire 180-6 (Joe Pyrah 51, Noah Chapman 30) beat Leicestershire 179-6 by 4 wickets.
A thrilling encounter at West Bretton saw Yorkshire hit the winning runs in the last over! With Noah Chapman losing his first coin toss of the season, Leicestershire elected to bat and made steady progress to 26 before Harvey Round claimed the first wicket. 13 runs later, Harry Edwards chipped in with a wicket courtesy of an LBW decision in his favour. A wicket for leg spinner Oshanda Munasinghe and 2 for 17 for Archie Barraclough ensured that Leicestershire did not get away. However, opposition captain Liam Tew made a brilliant 87 not to guide his team to 179 for 6. Ayaan Khokar claimed a wicket in his second spell. Once again the fielding was top quality.
A superb opening stand of 85 between Noah Chapman and Joe Pyrah set Yorkshire on their way before Chapman departed for 30. Another wicket fell on the same score as Jake Keslinke was
run out. A stand of 42 between Pyrah and Jacob Fordham took the score to 127 before Pyrah was the next wicket to fall, for an excellent 51. Wickets fell at regular intervals before Josh Simmons (17*) and Harvey Round (15*) steadied the ship. With 7 required off the last over, the two held their nerve to win with 2 balls to spare!
West Bretton again offered superb teas and hospitality and the club has proved a happy hunting ground for our U12 Development team this year.

Yorkshire U12 Development vs Huntingdonshire U12, held at Upwood CC on Sunday 29th July 2018.
Yorkshire 238-4 (Noah Chapman 83, Billy Armistead 76, Joe Pyrah 43) beat Huntingdonshire 164-6 by 74 runs.
A short tour to play Huntingdonshire and Bedfordshire came soon after the Leicestershire game.
On a blustery damp day the team traveled to Upwood - a small village in the heart of Cambridgeshire to play Hunts. On winning the toss, Yorkshire elected to bat and Noah Chapman and Joe Pyrah put on 64 for the first wicket before Pyrah was out for a well made 43. A stand of 147 followed as Billy Armistead and Chapman tore into the opposition bowling attack until Chapman was bowled for 83 off 104 balls, with 7 fours. Armistead was joined by Jacob Fordham and carried on with his attacking shots. A partnership of 23 took the score to 232 as Armistead was caught attempting to add to his collection of 10 fours. His excellent 76 came off 67 balls. Yorkshire finished on a creditable
238 for 4 - a competitive total in damp and windy conditions.
Hunts reply began with disaster, as they slumped to 22 for 3 with a wicket for Harvey Round and two run outs, emphasising the quality of the fielding by the Yorkshire boys. A rally by Hunts then took their score to 61 for 6 and then they set about pure defence, with no intention of looking for
runs. The Yorkshire bowling lacked penetration towards the end as the temperature dipped and, with rain in the air, this did not help the Yorkshire cause. Hunts finished on 164 for 6
and some credit must go to Hunts' Jairus Charles and Stan Weir who finished on 59 and 37 not out respectively as Yorkshire were victorious by 74 runs.

Yorkshire U12 Development vs Bedfordshire U12B, held at Steppingley CC on Monday 30th July 2018.
Yorkshire 201-6 (Jacob Fordham 69*, Harvey Round 52*, Noah Chapman 29) beat Bedfordshire (Harvey Round 3-0, Freddie Chapman 3-6) by 173 runs.
On Monday, the Yorkshire boys travelled to play Bedfordshire on a green wicket that had not been covered overnight. Batting proved a little tricky for the first hour or so. Beds had won the toss and asked Yorkshire to bat first and the Yorkshire boys used all their skills to post a more than competitive score of 201 for 6, with contributions of 29 from Noah Chapman and a well deserved
69 not out from Jacob Fordham. However, the innings that eclipsed all was a swashbuckling 52 from Harvey Round (off just 42 balls, with 6 fours and a massive 6).
The Bedfordshire reply was catastrophic as they were bowled out for just 28. 10 of those runs were extras. Round capped off a great game with 3 for 0 off 3 overs, aided by Freddie Chapman and Harry Edwards with 3 and 2 wickets respectively as the fielding and catching was again top quality.
The short Tour was good fun as we enjoyed some great hospitality at both Upwood CC and Steppingley CC. Thanks to all at both clubs for their hard work.
