Match reports from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Yorkshire U15A v Nottinghamshire at Scarborough CC on 27th May.
Yorkshire 215-5 (50 overs) (Romir Singh 47, Harry Sullivan 35, Leo Johnson 47) beat Nottinghamshire 154 all out (Matthew Bird 2-20, Cooper Smith 3-29, Louis Beckett 2-20) by 61 runs.
Yorkshire batted first on a good Scarborough wicket and scored 215-5 - probably 20 short of par in truth - with contributions from Romir Singh, Leo Johnson and Harry Sullivan; although no one was able to go on to a big score to boost the total.
Yorkshire then started well with the ball and soon reduced Notts to 45-8, with Matthew Bird (2-20) and Ben Cliff (1-30) removing the top order and Cooper Smith (3-29) taking out the middle order, assisted by two brilliant Dan Ford catches at gully. However, Notts' number 8 counter-attacked, scoring a fine 50 to boost the total to 154, before Louis Beckett (2-20) emerged to clean out the tail.

Yorkshire U15A v Derbyshire at Killamarsh CC on 3rd June.
Yorkshire 172-5 (Hector Bowerman 23, Romir Singh 58, Dan Ford 32*) beat Derbyshire 171 all out (Ben Stokes 3-33, Yash Vagadia 2-36, Louis Beckett 2-35, Matthew Bird 2-20) by five wickets.
Yorkshire won the toss and opted to field. After initially bowling poorly with the new ball (with too many wides given away), it was left to the spinners to pull the game back as Yash Vagadia (2-36), Louis Beckett (2-35) and Ben Stokes (3-33) tore through the Derbyshire line-up. Matthew Bird also bowled well at the death to take 2-20.
It looked a difficult target on a testing wicket, but the Derbyshire seamers were also wayward as Hector Bowerman (23) and Romir Singh (58) put on 68 for the first wicket. Thereafter things were harder for the batsmen as the pace was taken off the ball, before Danny Ford took Yorkshire home with a flurry of boundaries in the 42nd over.
