The topics covered are:
Early spring maintenance - preparation of the square - machinery - mowing - rolling - watering scarifying and brushing - fertiliser application - preparation of the match pitch - after match repairs and renovation - maintenance of non-turf pitches

IOG - FOUNDATION LEVEL PART B AUTUMN RENERVATION AND WINTER MAINTENANCE
THURSDAY 11th AUGUST 2016 AT KIRKSTALL EDUCATIONAL CRICKET GROUND, LEEDS. LS6 3HT

The topics covered are:
Assessment of surface; Pitch repair and renovation; Scarification; Aeration; Over seeding;
Top Dressing; Fertiliser Application; Care of the outfield; Maintaining of non-turf surfaces

The above courses are a practical approach to the preparation and maintenance of a sports surface. Delivering the essential operations of ‘best practice’ grounds maintenance with a hands-on, practical induction to the profession.

The Foundation level courses are suitable for new entrants (professional and volunteer) or those requiring a refresher course in the modern, practical techniques of preparing and maintaining sports surfaces

IOG - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2 – APPLIED TURFCULTURE
THURSDAY 30th JUNE 2016 AT WEETWOOD CRICKET GROUND, UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS, LEEDS. LS16 5AU

The Level 2 is an Introduction to the theory behind the maintenance and management of the square and outfield

The topics covered are:
Definition of surface, Assessment of surface, Safe Working practice, Soils, Basic Turf grass, Identification, Nutrients, Fertilisers, Pests, diseases, moss and weeds, New development.
