Sunday 9th July.
Rawdon Cricket Club is to host a cricket match in memory of past Chairman, Cricket Chairman and Life Member Lawrence Walker. Lawrence, who died in December 2016 aged 58, served Rawdon Cricket Club and the Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League for many years, and latterly worked for the Yorkshire Cricket Board.
Cricket Chairman Peter Smith said: “The club decided, together with the family, that this was a good way to remember Lawrence: inviting old friends, cricket acquaintances and colleagues to attend, raising money for two charities, and hopefully putting on a good game of cricket.”
The 40-over match will take place at Rawdon Cricket Club on Sunday 9th July, with wickets pitched at 2pm. Sandwiches and refreshments will be available, as well as a barbeque later in the day.
Programmes and raffle tickets will also be on sale in order to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research and Yorkshire County Cricket Club Charitable Youth Trust.
