Yorkshire Cricket Board

This unification brings together the recreational heart of Yorkshire cricket with the community-driven power of the Foundation, forming one organisation dedicated to growing the game and its positive impact across every corner of the county.

Shariq Mumtaz has been appointed as Managing Director of the newly merged Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. He brings with him a passion for cricket, deep community understanding, and a vision for driving real, meaningful change.

“I am delighted to have joined the Yorkshire Cricket family at this exciting time,” said Mumtaz. “The Foundation embodies everything I believe in – cricket, community, and creating real opportunities that make a lasting difference. With the support of our incredible Trustees and dedicated teams, I look forward to listening, learning, and building stronger connections with the people we serve.”

The new Board of Trustees is chaired by Ian Cotterhill, with John Jackson, Jane Ellison, Varinder Rehal, Jo Clarke, Steve Hartley, Parveen Malik, Alan Birkinshaw, and Robert Burton. This refreshed Board will guide the Foundation’s mission to use cricket as a force for good. Cricket hits different in Yorkshire and has the power to change lives. The Board intends to bring this power to as many people as possible.

“This is a moment of both continuity and change,” said Cotterhill. “As a unified Foundation, we’re ready to do more, reach further, and create deeper impact. Together with our team, volunteers, clubs, leagues, and partners, we’re committed to changing lives through cricket.”
