As part of Volunteers Week we are pleased to share a Volunteers Ticket Offer from the County Club; as well as Cricket Collective Update from the ECB.
As part of National Volunteers Week, we are pleased to share that a volunteers ticket offer has been sent out to all of our Clubs via Play Cricket, on behalf of Sanjay Patel, CEO YCCC.
We are also pleased to share the following update from the ECB:
Volunteers’ Week is a brilliant opportunity for us to celebrate everything The Cricket Collective does for the game.
Whether you tend to the pitch, keep score on Saturdays, inspire future England players during a Friday night All Stars session, pour love & creativity into the matchday teas, painstakingly put together the committee meeting agendas, or any of the other jobs integral to making cricket happen, this week is our opportunity to say an enormous THANK YOU! Cricket truly could not exist without each and every one of you.
It goes without saying that your hard work and dedication is year-round, and so as well as celebrating you this week, we also have many plans and activities to support you long-term too.
You can read about what we have planned at this blog, and we will be sure to keep you updated in the monthly Cricket Collective Bulletins and via the Cricket Collective Learning Hub.
Thank you again for everything you do. Throughout the week we will be sharing content and resources on ECB social media channels. We would love to hear from you too – share your volunteer story on social media about how volunteering has made a positive impact on your cricketing experience using #TheCricketCollective.
Social Media Webinar:
The ECB is offering clubs, leagues and volunteers the opportunity to attend a free webinar on Social Media Management. Join the 45-minute session online to hear from clubs who have used social media to grow their membership and attract sponsorship. Plus get top tips from communications and marketing experts on using the right tone of voice, how to make the most of paid media on social channels, and an introduction to using Canva to produce original content.
There are two sessions: 17th June 5:45pm and 18th June 12:30pm
Sports Honours:
The Independent Sport Honours Committee, chaired by Sir Ron Kalifa, is very keen to enlist your help to encourage more honours nominations for those grassroots volunteers who give up their time week in week out to coach or manage cricket teams or perhaps work behind the scenes preparing the grounds.
Anyone can nominate someone for an honour. The process for making a public nomination is simple - it can be made by completing a nomination form, online at www.gov.uk/honours. There is also a step-by-step guide to assist with the process. A nomination must also be supported in writing by at least two other people who know the nominee.
All that’s left to say is a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers across England and Wales. Your hard work and dedication are the backbone of cricket in our community. We appreciate everything you do to make cricket happen.
The Yorkshire Cricket Board would also like to say a massive thank you to all of our volunteers across our game. Your hard work and dedication to your club, league and county, mean that Cricket in Yorkshire is thriving, as well as developing in a way that will create the perfect platform for future generations.
