Match report from North Marine Road vs Wales.
On a sunny day at Scarborough, the Yorkshire U15 A team overturned Wales to progress through to the ECB National County Cup Group A Semi Finals next week.
The White rose bowled the visitors out for 95 with Harry Sullivan the standout performer taking 3 for 16 from his 10 overs. He was well supported by Bourne, Mukherjee, Wisniewski and Greaves who all picked up one wicket apiece, whilst Robert Heyes took two wickets in an over towards the very end of the innings. The team worked hard in the field to help restrict the visitors, and a special mention must go to Tom Nicholson who pulled off a terrific stop at backward point which led to one of the Welsh batsmen being run out.
Yorkshire stumbled a little and found themselves under pressure at 4 for 2 early on, but Arjun Ramkumar (36*) steadied the ship and was ably assisted by Captain Eliot Goldthorp (32*) as the pair added 53 for the fifth wicket to see their side home.
It is now onto Kibworth CC for the Semi Final match up against Surrey next week, with Essex playing Nottinghamshire in the other matchup. The losers of each will play for a 3rd and 4th place playoff the following day, whilst the two winners go up against each other for the chance to play against the Winners of the B section to become National Champions.
