Yorkshire girls under 15s have been crowned national champions following victories over Oxfordshire and Hampshire at the annual finals day at Uppingham Cricket Club.
In the semi-final against Oxfordshire the young Tykes came through in a close contest by two runs, with Izzy Bunn taking 3 for 9.
The win meant they played Hampshire in the final, who had beaten Kent by 37 runs in the other semi. Hampshire batted first and posted 153 from their 40 overs , with Molly Havard taking 3 for 21.
Yorkshire’s Hannah Poulter (77*) and Abi Glen (47) batted superbly and the team cruised to the win with 6.3 overs to spare.
