Yorkshire U15s have started their 2017 season strongly with back-to-back victories in their ECB cup competition and early season T20 games.
The newly assembled squad recorded a double victory in a T20 day at Worksop College overcoming opponents Derbyshire and Notts U15s in white ball games. A comfortable 64 run victory against Derbyshire included 50s from Bean and Ramkumar in a strong batting performance of 164-3 before tight bowling restrict Derbyshire u15s to 92 for the loss of 6 wickets.
The second game against Notts was a closer affair, with Yorkshire being restricted to 115-5 (Harry Duke 56)only to then produce a bowling and fielding performance that restricted to Notts to 113-6 to secure a 3 run victory!
The team went on to produce back to back victories, firstly against the old enemy Lancashire at Ormskirk, winning by 6 wickets after bowling their opponent out for 185 including 3 wickets for James Mukherjee. The Yorkshire team completed the victory with over 8 overs to spare, Matthew Revis finishing on 52 not out.
The next ECB cup game against Cheshire saw Yorkshire post 202 for 5 in their 50 overs before bowling out their opponents in the 47th over for 173. Finley Bean with 80 top scored for Yorkshire with Sam Wisniewski taking 3 wickets in Cheshire's reply.
