What follows is a brief guide on how to initiate a DBS check:
- Contact your CSO or the Yorkshire Cricket Safeguarding Team to initiate an online application via email. You will need to provide your full name, DOB, the name of the club you are affiliated with, the role you hold at that club and a contact email address.
- You will receive an email once your application has been initiated with instructions on how to complete your online application.
- You will be required to take your identification documents and your application number to a verifier (you will receive a list of nearby verifiers) to complete your ID verification. This must be done in person.
- The application will then be processed by the ECB and subject to a vetting process a DBS certificate will be issued directly to applicants in the post.
For more information on DBS applications, please contact your local Community Cricket Officer or Club Development Manager (details of which can be found HERE) or alternatively contact the Yorkshire Cricket Safeguarding Team safeguarding@yorkshireccc.com.
Ideally, each cricket club will have their own verifier to complete ID verification checks. If you wish to become an online DBS verifier, or would like guidance on how to use the online system, please contact your local Community Cricket Officer or Club Development Manager or alternatively the Yorkshire Safeguarding team for more details.
