The following YCB rule was adopted at the 2022 AGM:
Rule 9.6 – Religious Festivals
All leagues under the jurisdiction of the YCB must respect the implications of significant religious festivals, such as Eid for members of the Muslim faith. If there is a possibility of a fixture clashing with religious festivals and a club is going to be significantly depleted and therefore concerned about fulfilling a fixture then, working with opposition teams and keeping the League advised, the match may be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date outside of the religious festival period. Leagues should encourage all clubs to be flexible and accede to requests of this nature.
(NB – leagues should identify who can assist clubs with any questions or if a club needs support when they believe a request is not being managed appropriately. Leagues should not be deducting points from clubs who are genuinely unable to fulfil fixtures because of significant religious festivals. Consideration should be given to treating these matches as Cancelled dependent upon the relevant wording and points structures in the individual League regulations).
