Barbara Hare Award for Services to Women's Cricket.
Ellie Jackson has been involved in the Nidderdale Ladies Evening League for over 40 years.
She played for Pateley Bridge in the early 1970’s when the league was resurrected. Her role was wicket keeper.
After she finished playing, she kept her interest and support of the league going and has organised the league cup finals and end of season presentation evenings for many years. From organising the umpires and sorting trophies to fund raising raffles, Ellie’s organisation ensures the events run smoothly.
She took over as President 15 years ago and has carried out the role with commitment and enthusiasm.
Over recent years, when the league has struggled and a number of team have left the league, Ellie has worked hard to support the clubs and players.
This year has seen the introduction of the new 8-a-side competition to help teams play.
Ellie has decided to step down as President this year and it is a fitting tribute to all her dedication to the Nidderdale Ladies League that she takes home the Barbara Hare Award. Well done to Ellie and sincere thanks go to her for her years of service to cricket.
