The Under 10s got their County seasons off to a flying start with both squads, the Tykes and Phoenix, registering wins over Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire.
Yorkshire Tykes vs Nottinghamshire at Ossett CC on Monday 11th June 2018.
Yorkshire Tykes 155 all out (Ollie Wainwright 41, Will MacDonald 26) beat Nottinghamshire 111-5.
The Tykes hosted Notts over at Ossett CC on Monday, and got off to a flier with Ollie Wainwright (41) and Alfie Spurr (8) recording a fifty partnership inside 10 overs. Captain, Will MacDonald (26) and Max Chaplin contributed but unfortunately the side went from 129 for 4, to 155 all out in 35 overs.
Notts could never keep up with the required run rate in their innings, as Tom Bradley and Harry Askey bowled tight at the top of the innings. At the first drinks break, Notts were 14 for 0 from 13 and the game drifted away from them. They finished on 111 for 5, with all the wickets shared out.

Yorkshire Phoenix vs Warwickshire at Eckington CC on Wednesday 13th June 2018.
Yorkshire Phoenix 187-2 (Joe Birks 66*, Charlie Westerby 30*, Peter Greenfield 31) beat Warwickshire 83 all out.
The Phoenix hosted the Cubs of Warwickshire at Eckington CC, where Joe Birks (66*) and Charlie Westerby (30*) got the innings off to a solid start which set the platform for Aaron Ratnalingam (18 from 12 Balls) and skipper Peter Greenfield (31 from 22 Balls) to stretch the away side at the death and finish on 187 for 2.
In reply, the Phoenix were just as good in the field and each bowler took wickets as Warwickshire finished on 83 all out. Rohan Patel, Musa Altaf and Aidan Gaunt-Edwards all taking two wickets.

Next up is the first of the ‘Clash of the White Roses’ as the Tykes take on the Phoenix at Beverley CC on the 24th of June. It promises to be a very competitive and compelling game.
