to Yorkshire girls team -
Grace Hall from York is the first girl to come through the Chance to Shine Programme to not only represent her district this year but play for Yorkshire in the ECB U13 Development League. Grace attended Hempland Primary School, one of the first primary schools in York who received the Chance to Shine Programme back in 2013. From there her love & passion for the game grew with Grace having played as much cricket as she can at various clubs around York in the last 2 years.
This season Grace has played two games for Yorkshire U13 Development Squad- the first game she top scored with 30 against Northumberland & her second game she opened the bowling and claimed a vital wicket against Cumbria U13. Grace also played for Osbaldwick Mens Team, being one of the youngest female players to play senior cricket in the York & District Senior Cricket League!
Andrew Hall, Grace's Dad, said “From the first Chance to Shine session she attended at Hempland Primary School, Grace has loved being involved in cricket. The enthusiasm of the coaches has really inspired her to go out and improve on her performance every time she plays a game.”
Grace now attends Archbishop Holgate School in York and is still involved in the Chance to Shine programme. Not only does Grace play the game at a high level, she also helps her dad with the Osbaldwick U9 team where both her younger sister & brother play. The Chance to Shine Programme also enable Grace to meet England Women's captain Charlotte Edwards last year!
She is a thriving example of how Chance to Shine can help individuals get involved in the game, stay in the game and encourage others to play. We wish Grace all the best for her first year playing county cricket.
