are taking shape..
Anston Cricket Club will soon be celebrating the start of their new season in style. Thanks to generous funding from Sport England Inspired Facilities Award and Biffa Award, the Clubhouse and facilities are being transformed.
New large modern changing rooms including new showering and toilet facilities for players and officials are being installed. These will also cater for people with disabilities. The transformation project also provides purpose built equipment storage and an enlarged and fully refurbished lounge area. Work is well under way, and due for completion before the end of April and the beginning of the 2017 season.
Club President Alan Vollans, a lifelong cricketer, is delighted to see the transformation of the old facilities bringing the Club into an exciting new era.
Charlie Pearson, one of the Club's Under 13 cricketers and a great future prospect (who started at the Club from age 5) can hardly believe how wonderful the new facilities will be. Charlie has been watching the progress of the workmen and said “it looks fantastic. I can’t wait to use the new dressing rooms; they look so big and airy – we have been very lucky to get this funding”.
Charlie is pictured being shown the new home changing rooms by Project Manager, Alan Platts with Alan Vollans looking on.
“We’re really proud to be supporting such a great project with Landfill Communities Funding” said Gillian French, Biffa Award Head of Grants. “and we wish the Club all the best when the cricketing season starts!”
