Shining the Light.
Match report by Frances Lonsdale, Yorkshire U18s.
For the first day of the Yorkshire U18 girls’ residential to Scarborough, we played Scotland in a 50 over game. We lost the toss and fielded first. We had a great first over from seam bowler Asmi Shembekar, making her debut for Yorkshire. She picked up 2 wickets to get us off to a promising start. This was followed up by some tight bowling from Annie Brown (3 wickets), Jess Thompson (2 wickets) and Emma Lawson (2 wickets) resulting in us bowling Scotland out for 115.
In our batting innings an impressive second wicket partnership from Millie Gray (51 retired not out) and Frances Lonsdale (38 not out) allowed us to knock off the runs off in 27 overs and win by 8 wickets.
