Match report from another Yorkshire 50+ victory.
Yorkshire 50+ vs Durham 50+, held at Darlington CC on Wednesday 4th July 2018.
Yorkshire 116-1 (Kevin Bradley 89) beat Durham 115 all out (Stephen Foster 4-22) by 9 wickets.
Yorkshire CCC 50+ continued their winning run in the penultimate group match, away to old rivals Durham 50+. The Darlington CC ground was, once again, bathed in glorious sunshine for the encounter. Winning the toss and batting first, Durham made slow progress against a well balanced visiting attack; so much so that at the halfway stage Durham were 39 for 5 with both opening bowlers, Wilson and Sharnawaz, recording identical figures of 9 overs, 4 maidens, 2 for 14. Enter Steve Foster; who, in 6 overs, recorded 4 for 22, along with Jahangir's 1 for 23. The only partnership of note came from Burgess (57) and Sangor (23) - Burgess being last out at the end of a 49-run last wicket stand.
In reply, a stand of 100 between Bradley and Gaywood took Yorkshire to the brink of victory. Jahangir, sitting on 1*, watched as Nick Gaywood crashed a 6 and a 4 off the bowling of Anderson to send the visitors home with 24 overs to spare. Bradley had batted intelligently and brutally for his 89 off 60 balls, including 18 4s, with Gaywood patient and successful against Zahid's left arm spin.
