Match reports.
Lancashire U14B 154-8 (Ollie Walsh 3-16, Harry Moore 3-22) beat Yorkshire U14 Development 96-8 (Joe Barker 39, Tom Miller 27) by 58 runs.
Castleford CC played host to a T20 day with Lancashire last Tuesday. Lancashire batted first in the first game and got off to a flyer thanks to a superb innings from Jack Carney (86). 200 looked on the cards at one point before some excellent spin bowling from Ollie Walsh (3-16) and Harry Moore (3-22) restricted the visitors to 154-8 at the half way stage.
In reply, the Lancashire spinners bowled superbly, giving very few scoring opportunities. Joe Barker (39) provided some impetus at the top of the order, in combination with Tom Miller (27). But, after their dismissals, Yorkshire could only stutter to 96-8.

Lancashire U14B 111-3 beat Yorkshire U14 Development 110-4 (Tate Miller 30, Matthew Hood 27) by 7 wickets.
Yorkshire would bat first in the second game and would have a chance to set the tone. Tate Miller (30) and Matthew Hood (27) combined well to build the innings but, once again, Lancashire were doing an excellent job to restrict the run rate. Yorkshire ultimately posted a conservative 110-4.
Yorkshire responded well after their struggles with the ball in the first game and kept the run rate down, utilising spin well. Sadly though, the first innings total wasn't big enough, as Lancashire eventually eased to victory by 7 wickets, with a couple of overs to spare

Yorkshire U14 Development 318-5 (Joe Barker 108*, Tom Miller 59, Charlie McMurran 46, Tate Miller 32) beat U14 Best of Regional 172-7 by 146 runs.
The following Sunday, Yorkshire travelled to Knaresborough CC to play the Best of Regional side. Yorkshire batted first and openers Matthew Hood (12) and Tate Miller (32) set a good platform, before Tom Miller (59) continued to pile the pressure on the Regional side. The feature innings of the day however came from Yorkshire number four, Joe Barker, who notched a maiden century (ending on 108* from 93 balls, including 17 fours). Barker was well supported by Charlie McMurran (46), before a good cameo at the end from Ollie Walsh (16*) saw Yorkshire to an imposing 318-5 at the break.
In the second innings, Charlie Pearson (2-6) wasted no time in making two crucial breakthroughs to stifle any attempts at an unlikely Regional chase. Yorkshire rotated the bowling and all bowled well as the Best of Regional side tried to dig in and rebuild. Wickets fell at regular intervals though and it took an accomplished innings of 86* from Matthew Simms to get Best of Regional to 172-7 at the close. Yorkshire now look to build on this strong performance against Durham, away at Sunderland CC on Thursday.
