Shining the Light.
Do you have U15s and U13s girls at your club? Is there an appetite among these players to play with girls, against girls? As an increasing number of girls are participating in cricket at clubs across Yorkshire, the demand is growing for an all-girls leagues and early plans have begun to make this happen. Rob Hodgson, who runs the girls' teams at Menston CC feels the time is right to
launch a new league in the West of the region:
"It's important to set up a hardball league for girls because it gives a level platform to develop their cricket. It will create a clear pathway for girls to follow through to women's cricket."
We are looking for expressions of interest right now for the 2022 season, and are planning a festival at the end of the 2021 season to launch the new league. If you feel your club might be interested,
even if you are uncertain about whether you can put out a full team at this stage, please contact Katie Stewart (k.stewart@yorkshirecb.com) or Rob Hodgson (roberthodgson44@hotmail.com) to express your interest and find out more.
