Match report.
On winning the toss skipper Will Bennison invited Northumberland to bat and that decision was looking correct as Jay Singh claimed the first wicket with a short quick delivery that was well caught by Oliver Thompson with the score on 7. A stand of 42 followed as Charnley punished anything wayward and looked set for a good score until he was caught and bowled by Seth Pickering. Jamie Redgwick (1-9) and Harvey Laverack (1-8) kept the middle order in check. The run out of Northumberland skipper Southerm proved pivotal as he was set on 26 and scoring freely. Another wicket for Pickering (2 17) and a pacy burst from Matthew Firbank (3-4) and Northumberland closed on 118 for 9. A good bowling performance backed up by some good fielding.
Yorkshire's reply suffered 2 early setbacks in reaching 16. A stand of 16 followed, before Zaki Anjum was dismissed for 19 and 3 further wickets fell reducing the visitors to 34 for 6. A stand of 21 between Seth Pickering and Harvey Laverack steadied the ship but an error of judgement saw Pickering run out for 15. 3 runs later another wicket fell and at 59 for 8 the target of 118 looked a long way off. The game was turned around with a stand of 55 between Laverack and Jamie Redgwick - who batted with authority, scoring 33, which included 4 fours. Jamie was the ninth wicket to fall and last man Jay Singh hit the second ball he faced to the boundary to secure a hard earned 1 wicket victory with Harvey finishing unbeaten on a well made 25.
